Moray is located in the north-east of Scotland and covers an area of 2,200 square kilometres. We are the biggest provider of social rented housing in Moray with around 6,000 houses spread across the area. The main housing areas are Elgin, Buckie, Forres, Keith and Lossiemouth. The rest of our houses are dispersed in smaller settlements.  Most properties are suitable for people with general needs, although there are some sheltered properties and other types of amenity housing.  

We are responsible for operating a wide range of public sector services including education, housing, social care, planning, economic development, roads, environmental protection, and leisure.

Langstane Housing Association is a Registered Social Landlord and a charity. We were founded in 1977 to provide homes for single people in need of affordable rented accommodation.

Nearly 40 years later we are meeting that need and more. Our stock is growing and changing to provide good quality family homes at reasonable cost.

We manage over 2,800 properties throughout Aberdeen city, Aberdeenshire and Moray. Our Head Office is at 680 King Street, Aberdeen. Our Elgin office is at 7 North Guildry Street, Elgin. The Elgin Team delivers our services to tenants and applicants in Moray and North Aberdeenshire.

Established in 1975, Grampian is one of the largest housing associations based in the North East of Scotland. Through direct development and stock transfer, the Association provides services to over 3,000 households.

Our overall strategy is to develop sustainable communities, with a balance of tenure types to meet the housing needs of a wide range of client groups. As well as providing quality affordable homes for rent, the Association participates in Low Cost Home Ownership initiatives including shared ownership and shared equity.

However, Grampian is more than a traditional landlord. The Association provides environmental improvements and regenerates urban and rural communities. In recognition of the link between housing need and other forms of social exclusion Grampian Housing Association also provides money advice and debt counselling, housing support, routes into work, supported employment and training as well as supporting the development of community facilities and social enterprises.

As a landlord, Grampian Housing Association is keen to involve tenants, sharing owners and owner occupiers in its customer participation activities so they can influence how services are designed and delivered and have a say in how the Association is managed.

The scrutiny/inspection and review of housing services by tenants and residents is an important part of performance management and measuring how well Grampian Housing Association is doing. It is now a requirement of the Scottish Housing Regulator.

We have a wide range of options for our customers in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray to participate. They can get involved at the level that suits them. It really depends on their interests and how much time they have to spare. The aim of tenant’s involvement is to improve the housing and property management services provided to our tenants/residents now and in the future.

We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on:

The AGM will be followed by a special session on Equalities, led by a representative from Aberdeen City Council’s Equalities Team. This is a great opportunity to explore how we can work together to make tenant participation more inclusive and welcoming for all.

After the Equalities session, we’ll break for lunch. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

We’ll then continue with our regular group meeting, where we catch up, share updates and plan ahead.

All members are encouraged to attend and we’d be delighted to see new faces too! Please check Basecamp for supporting documents, along with the Zoom link, otherwise we look forward to seeing you in-person at Greyhope Community Hub on the day.

Aberdeenshire Council

Aberdeenshire Council were one of the founding members of NETRALT in 2011.

The Council is landlord to approximately 13,000 tenants covering the area from Portsoy to St Cyrus and inland as far as Braemar (surrounding the totally separate local authority of Aberdeen City). The largest settlements are the coastal towns of Peterhead and Fraserburgh. Other major settlements include Inverurie, Ellon, Banff/Macduff, Mintlaw, Banchory, Stonehaven, Alford, Huntly, Turriff, Aboyne, Ballater, Laurencekirk and Inverbervie.

The Council is responsible for providing and overseeing a wide range of public sector services including Education, Planning, Social Care & Health, Waste Management, Housing and Tenant Participation, also working with other partners to provide services such as Mental health and Wellbeing Services.

Tenant Participation

Tenant participation is a two-way process involving our tenants working in partnership with us to share ideas, information and have input to decisions to improve services.

Tenant participation gives you an opportunity to:

  • get involved in the development and monitoring of housing services
  • be involved in the decision-making process
  • Be able to influence decisions made by us about our housing and related services.

Why you should get involved

If you want to:

  • work with us to make changes
  • have a say on issues affecting your home
  • support other tenants or residents
  • pursue issues of interest, such as addressing anti-social behaviour or environmental improvements

There are different ways you can get involved with tenant participation in Aberdeenshire:

ACTG take a very active role to raise awareness of tenant participation. They carry out estate walkabouts, tenant scrutiny, join the TP team at events, to name just a few roles they have, as well as having editorial input into the Tenants Newsletter.

Aberdeen City Council is the fifth largest landlord in Scotland. We currently own and manage around 22,500 properties including cottages, tenement flats, sheltered complexes and multi-storey blocks. We provide a wide range of services to our tenants including:

These services are mainly delivered through three area housing offices based in Tillydrone, Mastrick and Marischal College. Our repairs service operate from the depot in Kittybrewster.
